Our Sr. Minister contacted the Clearwater Police Department this week to express the support of our congregation for all who serve and protect in our area.
She asked if she could deliver teddy bears for the officers to give in situations where they are called upon to calm and comfort children they encounter in the line of duty.
Joan Martell of the Clearwater Police Department returned her call and seemed quite surprised and pleased to hear from us.
When Leddy asked her what else we might do, as a spiritual community, to express our support and gratitude for the Police Department, she asked that we keep them all in prayer. So, our teddy bears that were delivered by Leddy to the:
City of Clearwater/YWCA Hispanic Outreach Center and Child Care Facility at 612 Franklin St., where the officers can pick up the teddy bears, tagged with “We Bear You Love from Unity.”
