Faith in You Leddy Hammock

Faith in You Leddy Hammock

Inspired by lyrics by Richard Mekdeci to”Just a Little Faith”

“Everywhere I look, I see endless possibilities, and I know all I need is just a little faith.”

I center myself in the multiplying power of faith.

I give thanks, even for the little I have, and I share it, for all I have to add is just a little faith.

I don’t give doubt a chance, when the storms of life are blowing.  Just a little faith will get me where I’m going.

I ask and know that I’ll receive.  I act as if I do believe.  Just a little faith is all I’ll ever need.

Jesus said:  "I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat (or drink), or about your body, what you will wear . . . .  Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin.  But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them . . . .  If God so clothes the grass of the field . . . will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? . . .  But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness and all these things will be given you besides” (Mt. 6:25-33).

“Everywhere I look, I see endless possibilities, and I know all I need is just a little faith.”

After the miracle of feeding the multitudes from a little boy’s lunch of a few loaves and fishes, “in coming to the other side of the sea, the disciples had forgotten to bring bread. Jesus said to them, ‘. . . ‘You of little faith . . . .  Do you not yet understand, and do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many wicker baskets you took up?  Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?’” (Mt. 16:5-10)

Jesus send the disciplines ahead in the boat and He stayed on the mountain by Himself to pray.  A storm blew up and th wind was against them.  They were scared when they saw Him walking toward them on the water.  He told them not to be afraid.  “Peter said . . . ‘Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.’ He said, ‘Come’ Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.  But when he saw how (strong) the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’  Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’  After they got into the boat, the wind died down” (Mt. 14:22-33).

I don’t give doubt a chance, when the storms of life are blowing.

The disciples asked Jesus why He was able to heal a young boy whom they had not been able to heal.   “He said to them, ‘Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you’” (Mt. 17:20-21).
