“Living in My Heartland” – Leddy Hammock

Inspired by lyrics by Sue Riley & JD Martin to “My Heart’s Desire” – “Ready to Receive” CD:

“I’ve got the weight of the world tuggin’ on my sleeve, there’s something more precious callin’ me. Those things I never seem to have the time to go, places to go, people to see.

My heart’s desire, been there all the time. My heart’s desire, never too late to find.  My heart’s desire.

Clearin’ out the clutter that’s making me drown, all those excuses I’ve been keeping around, living this dream that was always mine, I’m moving up to solid ground.

My heart’s desire, been here all the time, my heart’s desire, never too late to find my heart’s desire.

When I’m afraid, I know that I’m close to everything I want the most, my heart’s desire it’s been here all the time. My heart’s desire, it’s never too late to find.

“A clean heart create for me, God; renew in me a steadfast spirit. . . . Restore my joy” (Ps. 51:12). “Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God” (Mt. 5:8).

“There’s something more precious callin’ me.
Those things I never seem to have the time to go, places to go, people to see.”
My heartland is calling to me.

“Says the LORD, I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. . . . All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD” (Jer. 31: 33-4).

My heart’s desire, been there all the time.
My heart’s desire, never too late to find. My heart’s desire.
I am ready to find my heartland.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not; in all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths” (Prov. 3:5,6).

“Clearin’ out the clutter that’s making me drown,
all those excuses I’ve been keeping around,
living this dream that was always mine, I’m moving up to solid ground.”
The path to my heartland is now clear.

“I will give you a new heart, and place a new spirit within you . . . .” (Ez. 36:26).

“My heart’s desire it’s been here all the time.
My heart’s desire, it’s never too late to find.”
My heartland has been here all the time.
