“Better Days” – Leddy Hammock

“Better Days” – Leddy Hammock

Lyrics from “Better Days” by Susie Hulcher and Ricky Howard:

Better days are coming, better times are near. . . .

Change is never easy, but it starts inside ourselves, something very possible to do.

The door to the heart only opens from inside, and if we’re brave enough to step on through, better days will come for me and you.

In the darkest hour, light comes shining through. Days will be much brighter, lived anew. Better days will come for me and you.

“We thought we were dreaming. Then our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The LORD had done great things for them.’ The LORD has done great things for us” (Ps. 126:1-3).

Better days are coming, better times are near,
Look how far we’ve come together since this time last year.

“Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy. Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves” (Psalm 126 5-6).

Change is never easy, but it starts inside ourselves, something very possible to do.

“How long, O people, will [we] be hard of heart? . . . Trust in the LORD. Many say, ‘May we see better times! LORD, show us the light of your face!’” (Psalm 4:3-7).

The door to the heart only opens from inside, and if we’re brave enough to step on through, better days will come for me and you.

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am’” (Isaiah 58:8, NKJV).

In the darkest hour, light comes shining through.
Days will be much brighter, lived anew.
Better days will come for me and you.
