Inspired by lyrics to “Getting Better Every Minute” by Richard Mekdeci:
If we’re wise, we surely know, what we feed will always grow.
So, I walk through my life and do my best to be cheerful,
Because I know it’s a choice and it’s better than fearful.
So, when my friends smile and say, “Hey, how ya doin’ today?”
I will choose to answer in a positive way.
I say, “I’m getting better every minute, getting better every day.”

“I will forget my complaining, I will lay aside my sadness and be of good cheer” (Job 9:27).
I know a man. He never complains and he never looks back.
And when he talks about tomorrow, it’s a matter of fact, he says,
“It’s getting better every minute, getting better every day.”
“If only I had wings like a dove that I might fly away and find rest…. Cast your care upon the LORD, who will give you support” (Ps. 55:7, 22).
There’s a channel of peace being sent from above,
Bringing us this message on the wings of a dove. It says,
“It’s getting better every minute, getting better every day.”
“Gladness of heart is the very life of a person, and cheerfulness prolongs his days. Distract yourself and renew your courage” (Ben Sira 30:22-3).
So I walk through my life and do my best to be cheerful,
Because I know it’s a choice and it’s better than fearful.
“Many say, ‘May we see better times! LORD, show us the light of your face!’ Selah
But you have given my heart more joy . . . . You alone, LORD, make me secure” (Ps.4:7-9).
So when my friends smile and say, “Hey how ya doin’ today?”
I will choose to answer in a positive way. I say,
“I’m getting better every minute, getting better every day.”
