This is the noble love that inspires everyday heroes.  
 
The Mother side of God is infinite wisdom.
This is the love that inspires discernment. 
 
The Mother side of God=s love is loyal and strong.
It takes a hero to release fear and trust in love.    
 
The Mother side of God=s love is strong enough to let go and begin again.   
It takes a hero to hold on and inspire other heroes, every day.


Responsive Reading for May 14

The brave widow Tamar veiled herself and waited by the crossroads for Judah; she risked execution, but her action, which resulted in the birth of twins (Perez and Zerah), perpetuated the tribe of Judah.  Judah then protected her, declaring: “She is more in the right than I am” (Gen. 38:26).  
 
The Mother side of God=s love is selfless.  
This is the noble love that inspires everyday heroes.  
 
Among the flax on the rooftop of her house in the walls of Jericho, the ingenious Rahab hid the spies of Joshua telling the pursuers “they went thataway,” eluding the King’s men. She realized the saving grace of God–Omnipotence and Omnipresence–telling Joshua’s men: “The LORD your God, is God in heaven above and on earth below” (Joshua 2:10). She and her family were saved and she was a great-grandmother of King David.

When Ruth’s mother in law pressed her to stay in Moab, the loyal Ruth said: “Do not press me to go back and abandon you!  Wherever you go I will go, wherever you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God” (Ruth 1:15,16).

It takes a hero to release fear and trust in love.    
 
When King David saw the beautiful Bathsheba bathing on the rooftop one night, he sent for her (it’s good to be the king). In the drama that followed, Bathsheba was widowed and also mourned the passing of her first child. “Then David consoled Bathsheba his wife….  She conceived and bore him a son, who was named Solomon. The LORD loved him (II Samuel, 12:24).
 
The Mother side of God=s love is strong enough to let go and begin again.   
It takes a hero to hold on and inspire other heroes, every day.
