Game of Life – Leddy Hammock

Game of Life – Leddy Hammock

Inspired by The Game of Life and How To Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn:

“Look around, what do I see? Good or bad, it’s up to me.
My world reflects what I believe, here’s what I believe.

I know there’s good in everyone. I know the best is yet to come.
Look out world, ‘cause I’m not done, I’ve only just begun . . . .

I’ll choose compassion over fear, release my love into the atmosphere.
Like a single wave in an endless sea, any change begins with me . . . .

And, when I feel I’m all alone, I’ll remember — one drop of water smooths a stone,
to love like crazy, shine like gold, be courageous, break the mold.
Can’t do it all, but this much is true. I can do what I can do.”

“On the way of wisdom I direct you. I lead you on straightforward paths. . . . Let your eyes look straight ahead and your glance be direct forward. Survey the path for your feet, and let all our ways be sure” (Proverbs 4:11;25-6).

In the game of life, I keep my eyes trained on the goal. Looking straight ahead, I see only good in my experience and in others, so I stay on the winning path.

“The runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run as to win. Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one” (I Corinthians 9:24-5).

I am play the Game of Life graciously, glad to win and glad to see others win. The prize is spiritual character. So, there are really no losers in the Game of life. There is a place that I am to fill and no one else can fill — something I can do that no one else can do.

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded” (II Chronicles 15:7).

The Game of Life is a game of boomerangs. I play fair and life is more than fair with me. I know the best is yet to come, for myself and everyone. I can love like crazy, shine like gold, be courageous, break the mold – that’s what I can do!

“You will say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there;’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). “I have competed well. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith” (II Timothy 4:7).

Whatever I image and speak the word to attract, I begin to attract. My positive words make me a winner in the game of life. The square of life — Health, Wealth, Happiness and perfect self-Expression – is the Game completed. Right thinking wins the Game of Life, and the simple rules are fearless faith, nonresistance, and love. I can know the Truth, speak the word, and win by doing what only I can do.”
