“Auld Lang Syne” – by Robert Burns, adapted by LH for UCC
“Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and the days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dears, for auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’kindness yet, for the days of old lang syne!
And here’s a hand, my trusted friend, and lend a hand o’ thine.
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet for the days of auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dears, for auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for the days of auld lang syne!
Let all the heartaches be forgot and never brought to mind.
We let the sorrows fade away, only keep the good in mind.
For auld lang syne, my dears, for auld lang syne,
It’s one for all and all for one in 20-21!

“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1).
It takes strength to surrender and courage to let go.
“. . . Now we are released . . . from . . . what held us captive, so that we may serve in the newness of the spirit” (Romans 7:6).
It takes faith to leave the path we know.
“Make known to me your ways, LORD; teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me” (Ps. 25:4-5).
Let God lead me, let Spirit lead me, let love lead me home.
“When the people of the land enter the presence of the LORD to worship . . . no one shall return by the gate through which he has entered . . . . [This is to be] The year of release” (Ez. 46:9, 17).
Give me strength to surrender, courage to let go of the past, and love to lead me through.
