“Give glory to the LORD your God, before it grow dark, and before your feet stumble upon the mountains of twilight ….  Blessed are those who trust in the LORD; the LORD will be their trust. They are like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream” (Jer 13:16;17:7-8).

In my back yard there stands an old oak tree. She’s weathered far more storms than me. When the winds of life rage all around, she digs her roots deep in the ground.
My roots are anchored in Truth.

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light” (Is. 60:19).

I took a walk down a downtown street.  I saw a flower growing through the concrete
I was so impressed with this little one, pushing through the rock, reaching for the sun.
My soul reaches for the light.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path” (Ps. 119:105).

Shine down, shine down on me. Wash over me, chase away the shadows. Cast your light on me.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
Upon those who lived in a land of gloom a light has shone.
You have brought them abundant joy and great rejoicing” (Is. 9:1-2).

The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing.  The breeze is blowing fresh and bright.
The world starts over and so do I, welcoming the coming light.
Welcome to the coming light!
